The International Research on Energy Systems Integration, Education & Environment for Sustainability and Innovation Centre (IRESI), is a research centre housed in the School of Business. IRESI's research focuses on propelling sustainable energy systems into the future by helping individuals, organisations and institutions in the pursuit of a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable energy landscape.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support a multidisciplinary technical team working on the Research Ireland–funded RENEW project. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, validation, and refinement of data-driven models, working with large and complex energy-related datasets to support the project's analytical and computational objectives.
Working closely with experienced team members, the role will involve building and testing models, preparing datasets for analysis, and supporting the wider computational workflows that underpin the RENEW project. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career candidate to gain hands-on experience in data modelling, applied statistics, and research software development.
The position requires strong analytical thinking, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced technical environment.
Salary:
Research Assistant Level I (2026):€34,130 – € 38,102 p.a. (6 points)
Research Assistant Level II (2026): €39,061 (1 point )
Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
