Mr Shaun O'Sullivan serves as Team Lead, Biosciences within Specialist Facilities and Technical Services - Health in the College of Health at Adelaide University. His research specializations center on Invertebrate Biodiversity in Urban Landscapes. He is eligible to supervise Masters and PhD students as a Co-Supervisor.
O'Sullivan has co-authored key publications in ecology and biodiversity research. In 2019, he contributed to 'Indiscriminate feeding by an alien population of the spotted-thighed frog (Litoria cyclorhyncha) in southern Australia and potential impacts on native biodiversity' by Taylor, C. M., Keppel, G., O'Sullivan, S., Peters, S., Kerr, G. D., and Williams, C. R., published in Australian Journal of Zoology, 67(2), 59-72. This work explores the feeding behavior of an invasive frog species and its effects on native biodiversity. Earlier, in 2017, he co-authored 'Some cautions in the use of citizen science: a case study of urban insect collection' by Williams, C. R., Hawthorn Jackson, D., Orre Gordon, S., and O'Sullivan, S., published in Transactions of the Royal Society of South Australia, 141(1), 57-69. The paper examines challenges in citizen science data collection for urban insect studies.
