Open Rank Faculty in International Relations (Visiting)
Position Summary
AUIB is seeking a dynamic and qualified Open Rank Faculty member in International Relations to join the College of International Studies. In this role, the faculty member will teach core and elective IR courses, contribute to curriculum development, mentor students, engage in scholarship or applied professional work, and participate in departmental service. program’s regional and historically-grounded politics courses. Both full-time expatriate positions and visiting appointments are available.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching: Deliver undergraduate courses in International Relations and/or History, including core offerings (IR Theory, Security and Diplomacy, International Law, International Political Economy) upper-division seminars, and political science/history electives.
- Research and Scholarship: Engage in scholarly or applied professional work and contribute to the intellectual life of the department appropriate to rank.
- Student Mentorship: Supervise students in independent research, senior thesis work, and the Internship program.
- Curriculum and Assessment: Contribute to course development, syllabi review, and outcomes-based assessment aligned with accreditation standards.
- Departmental Service: Participate in faculty meetings, advising, committee work, and institutional initiatives supporting the CIS program and AUIB’s academic mission.
