Visiting Assistant Professor in Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Texas Lutheran University invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professorship to begin in August 2026. We seek a passionate educator who is committed to excellence in teaching and has a strong background in experimental design and statistics. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

Required Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in Psychology or closely related discipline. ABD candidates will be considered if their degree will be completed by August 2026.
Ability to teach a range of undergraduate psychology courses (12 credit hours per semester) including introductory courses (e.g. Introduction to Psychology, Quantitative Methods) and advanced courses in one’s area of expertise (e.g. Drugs & Behavior, Learning & Memory, Sensation & Perception, Sleeping & Dreaming).
A demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching.

Preferred Qualifications:

Background in Cognitive Psychology, Biopsychology, or Physiological Psychology.
Expertise with JASP statistics software.

Position Overview:

This is a one-year position that requires teaching in person in Seguin, Texas from August 2026 through May 2027. The primary responsibility consists of teaching a mixture of upper and lower-level psychology course: four in the fall and four in the spring. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
