The Technical Education Support Assistant will work closely with academic staff, technical support officers, and students in the School of Psychology to provide high quality technical support for education and research laboratories.
This is an onsite role.
Specific responsibilities for this role include:
- Contribute to the smooth and efficient running of education and research laboratories through the provision of quality technical support, including the timely preparation for and turnaround of practical classes and/or labs.
- Provide technical assistance to staff and students, such as minor maintenance for computers, printers and AV equipment, and the requisition of minor works and services as required.
- Respond to technical support requests in an efficient and courteous manner.
- Assist with sourcing and maintaining equipment, instruments, chemicals and consumables required for teaching laboratories and/or research, taking careful consideration of cost and availability and liaising with the supervisor as required for guidance.
- Help to liaise with suppliers to rectify faults and organise repairs.
- Assist in the receipt of goods and recording of details on electronic database, issue and attach barcodes for equipment items.
- Assist in the maintenance of the School asset register and in ensuring that all equipment/chemicals are stored safely and are correctly labelled.
- Maintain and audit inventories to validate records.
- Align with and actively demonstrate the Code of Conduct and Values.
- Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the psychosocial or physical health and safety of yourself or others.
