Job Description

The Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT) is seeking a Senior Education Specialist to design, develop and execute initiatives that support scholarly approaches to teaching and learning, and to participate in specific capability development programmes from design through to evaluation. This position will also provide instructional design consulting, guidance and support to academic staff.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to:

Capability Development
Collaborate with academic staff and / or students on education-centred/related research projects
Provide one-to-one or one-to-small group collaborative consultation to academic staff on teaching and learning matters
Plan, design, develop and conduct high-quality pedagogical and technology enhanced teaching and learning activities (e.g., courses and workshops) for academic staff and/or students.
Education and Technology
Translate issues and ideas pertaining to education and technology to specific target groups of stakeholders
Develop programmes and initiatives on education and technology matters that cater to teaching community and students
Community & Engagement
Plan, design, develop and execute ideas and programmes to engage and gather feedback from stakeholders and the teaching community
Build relationships and foster collaborations and act as intermediary between stakeholders and institutions
Provide pedagogical advice to academic staff on classroom, learning strategies and innovations
Special projects
Special projects assigned by the Director and/or Deputy Director (Teaching & Learning), CTLT

Requirements

At least a master’s degree in education or a related field
Knowledge of latest developments, trends and theories in academic development; education, education research
At least 3 years of post-master’s degree experience in:
(a) designing and conducting courses and/or workshops on pedagogical, educational technology, and other interrelated topics for academic staff and/or students
(b) providing collaborative consultation to academic staff in higher education institutions
(c) conducting education research specifically in the areas of impact/outcomes assessment at module/programme level
Ability to independently lead or co-lead a programme or initiative from conception to delivery
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage different, interrelated tasks in an efficient and timely fashion
ACLP or equivalent qualification and/or experience in Adult/Continuing Education would be useful
