Job Summary
South Georgia State College is seeking applications for part-time faculty to teach Education classes. Successful applicants should be able to teach undergraduate level courses, support the goals of a program embedded in a Professional Development Community (PDC) model, and foster preservice elementary teachers' confidence and efficacy in teaching elementary education in early childhood and special education settings.
Responsibilities
- Class Time - Meet in-person for each class as scheduled at the designated time and place and for the designated length of time.
- Meetings - Be available for part-time faculty/supervision meetings.
- Travel - May require travel to all SGSC campuses and sites.
- Office Hours - Be available to meet with students outside of class.
- Syllabus - At the beginning of each course, provide each student with a syllabus per the guidelines in the faculty handbook.
- Banner Administration - Maintain adequate records of student progress (using required program documentation) including posting mid-term grades in Banner. Submit correct proof rosters and grades in Banner by the assigned deadlines. Record daily attendance according to institutional policy.
- Assessment - Submit assessment data to the Assessment Coordinator at the end of each semester by the required deadline.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
The completion of a master's degree including 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
Three years teaching experience in a public-school
Georgia teaching certificate.
