Job Summary
The Instructional Materials Coordinator, under general supervision, designs and develops multimedia materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Designs and develops multimedia materials for web-based and face-to-face educational course material.
- Collaborates in the design and review of educational course material.
- Develops and disseminates advertising and promotional materials.
- Develops, creates, and integrates graphics, photographs, and custom illustrations into online course material, presentations, and print resources.
- Provides team leadership in development of advertising and promotional materials.
- Manages work assignments using project management tools.
- Maintains awareness and knowledge of current design trends and advances in technology-mediated learning.
Additional Responsibilities
- Updates information on the department's website and social media outlets.
- Coordinates with outside agencies, art services, web designers, the department of Public Relations, and print shop staff regularly.
- Keep current with the latest trends in artificial intelligence and graphic design.
Minimum Requirements
- Education - Bachelor's degree in applicable field.
- Experience - Three years of related experience in design with an emphasis on multimedia and e-learning.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Education - Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, and online instructional graphic design.
- A complete portfolio of multimedia design content showcasing skills and experience.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Desktop publications and graphic manipulation software, e-learning, web development, online course design principles and practices, and media applications.
- Adobe Creative Suite.
Ability to:
- Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Present information clearly and concisely.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Work in a collaborative team environment or work independently once given a project.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of storyboarding, visual design principles, and animation.
- Artistic with a keen eye for aesthetics and visually appealing content.
- Knowledge of Web Publishing software.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.

Other Requirements
- Evening and weekend work occasionally will be required.
- Position requires on campus, face-to-face interactions.
- Position requires maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
