The Dean serves as the institution’s primary leader for employer-focused learning initiatives, collaborating across Academic Affairs, eLearning, academic divisions, Student Affairs, business and industry, government agencies, and community organizations to design and deliver high-quality learning solutions that address workforce demands while creating seamless pathways into credit-bearing certificates and degrees. The position exercises broad independent judgment in developing strategic partnerships, directing complex cross-functional initiatives, managing financial and operational performance, identifying new market opportunities, and aligning workforce innovation with institutional priorities.
The Dean leads a dynamic portfolio of workforce and educational initiatives that may include customized employer training, apprenticeships, internships, work-based learning, prior learning assessment, bridge programming, short-term credentials, and other just-in-time learning opportunities. Using labor market intelligence, employer engagement, institutional data, and financial analysis, the Dean drives program innovation, strengthens quality, expands enrollment and revenue opportunities, and ensures Sinclair remains a dependable partner and innovator of distinction in workforce education.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and data-informed leader with demonstrated success in building strategic partnerships, leading multidisciplinary teams, managing complex initiatives, and translating workforce and community needs into scalable, accessible, and high-quality learning solutions that advance student success, economic mobility, and institutional sustainability.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a master’s degree required; doctorate in education, higher education administration, workforce development, instructional design, educational leadership, business, public administration, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, workforce development, adult or corporate training, or custom/non-credit program development
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the design, development, and delivery of educational, training, or credential programs (credit or non-credit), including familiarity with the learning technologies and digital delivery environments used to support them
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory, management, or administrative leadership experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of teaching or training experience preferred
