The Office of Student Engagement oversees community building programs, and seeks a student worker to support programming for commuter students. This position reports to the Associate Director for Recreation & Commuter Engagement.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Recreation & Commuter Engagement, the Athletics Coordinator will assist in keeping the athletic space and equipment usable, reservations, communications, and provide game day support for teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support athletic spaces and equipment management to ensure space is tidy and equipment is usable.
- Answer and monitor the recreation@newschool.edu email account
- Maintain space reservation policies in the fitness room.
- Assist in scheduling athletic games, including club sports and intramurals
- Provide game day support for teams.
- Provide social media and email newsletter support for athletics events
- Coordinate appearances with the Gnarls Squad.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled New School student who qualifies for Federal Work Study
- Demonstrated commitment to community building and teamwork
- Demonstrated interest in Sports
- Reliable, organized, and communicative
- Able to manage a hybrid schedule and confirm weekly changes for event staffing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience as a sports team Captain or in an athletics department is preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
WORK MODE
Hybrid/Split - Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (ex 1-4x/week) and also work some of the time remotely.
