Duties/Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the 4-H County Extension Agent, deliver 4-H positive youth development programming directly to youth. This includes facilitating/teaching 4-H in-school club meetings; preparing students for 4-H Project Achievement; attending 4-H Summer Camp; designing and implementing community service projects; and assisting with other 4-H base programming.
- Support and provide leadership to the county 4-H Volunteer program: recruit, screen, train, and engage volunteers.
- Track and document data related to the AmeriCorps Grant performance measures and complete monthly reports.
- Attend local, district, and state program activities and events alongside 4-H County Extension Coordinator.
Position Summary:
The AmeriCorps State program is a federally funded grant providing U.S. citizens with the opportunity to serve in their own country. The Georgia 4-H AmeriCorps member provides 4-H programming directly to youth under the direction of the County Extension Agent. This posting is for a half-time (part-time) AmeriCorps member serving for 12 months for the period of September 1, 2026 – August 31, 2027. Members will log a total of 900 hours, averaging 20 hours/week.
