Studies comparing methods show both scalpel and laser approaches achieve pocket reduction, with lasers sometimes offering faster initial comfort for patients on blood thinners.
Costs range widely. Medical necessity cases often receive partial insurance coverage, while purely cosmetic work typically does not. Per-tooth estimates fall between two and four hundred dollars depending on location, extent, and technology used.
