Professor Patrick S. Ohikhena serves as Professor of Business Administration in the Department of Business Administration, College of Social and Management Sciences, at Wellspring University, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria, and holds the position of Deputy Vice Chancellor. He earned a BSc with Upper Division honours from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, an MBA from the University of Benin—where he received the Akinmokun’s Prize for Business Policy in 1991—and a PhD in Management from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. A member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (MCIPM), Ohikhena's research specializations encompass strategic management, human resource management, and organizational behaviour. He lectures in these areas and has contributed to academic discourse through numerous publications, including "The Mass Media, Whistle Blowing Laws, and Corruption in Nigeria" (2020, International Journal of Recent Innovations in Academic Research), "Effectiveness and Challenges of Using E-books of Opón Ìmò Computer Tablet for Technology Enhanced Learning in Osun State, Nigeria" (2020), "Impact of Stress on Productivity of Employees in Nigerian Banking Sector" (2019, The International Journal of Business & Management), "Employee on-Boarding and Sustainable Consumer Satisfaction: An Assessment of the Customer Responsiveness of the New Hires and the Transitioning Employees Inherited by the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company" (2019, The International Journal of Business & Management), and "Natural Monopoly in the Privatized Nigeria Power Industry and Sustainable Service Delivery: An Assessment of the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company" (2019).
Appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor in 2024, Ohikhena has also acted in higher administrative roles, including as Acting Vice Chancellor. In April 2026, he delivered Wellspring University’s 3rd Inaugural Lecture, addressing Nigeria's path to self-sustaining entrepreneurship and economic challenges. His scholarly impact is evidenced by supervising more than 40 undergraduate students and 13 postgraduate students, many contributing globally. Ohikhena's work on topics such as mobile telecommunications' implications on youth, infrastructure for SME adoption of point-of-sale systems, and stress in banking underscores his focus on practical management issues in Nigerian contexts.
