Monica Miller is a Clinical Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Associate Head for Engagement in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the Purdue University College of Pharmacy. She also serves as Experiential Learning Success Coach and Dean's Fellow for Wellness Initiatives. Dr. Miller earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Minnesota in 2006 and completed a Master of Science along with a Pharmacotherapy Residency at the University of Texas in 2008. Throughout her career at Purdue, she has played a key role in global health pharmacy initiatives, particularly with the AMPATH program in Eldoret, Kenya, where she has coordinated postgraduate year two pharmacy residencies and international advanced pharmacy practice experiences for students. Her work emphasizes interprofessional education, student wellness, experiential learning, and pharmacy practice in resource-constrained settings.
Dr. Miller's contributions have been recognized with induction as a Distinguished Fellow of the National Academies of Practice in the Pharmacy Academy as part of the Class of 2026, during the organization's Annual Induction Banquet and Awards Ceremony on March 14, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana. This honor acknowledges her excellence in advancing interprofessional education, scholarship, research, practice, and policy for team-based healthcare. She has also received the Dr. Aziz Teaching Award, the Teaching for Tomorrow Fellowship Award, the Corps of Engagement Award in collaboration with Rakhi Karwa, and the Erin Slater Mentoring Achievement Award from College Mentors for Kids. Her scholarly work includes leading the 2017-2018 American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Student Affairs Standing Committee, resulting in a report published in the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education.
