Professor Mohammad Mujibul Haque serves as the Dean and Professor of Finance at BRAC Business School, BRAC University. He joined the school in May 2019 as Professor of Finance and Associate Dean of Academics. Haque holds a PhD in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance from Texas Tech University (1999), with his dissertation titled "Hedging Recurring Interest Rate Exposures: An Evaluation of Alternative Strategies with Eurodollar Futures Contracts." He also earned an MS in Business Administration (Finance) from Texas Tech University (1992) and an MBA with a major in Marketing from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka (1988). His career encompasses academic positions at KIMEP University and KBTU in Kazakhstan, Wichita State University and Texas Tech University in the USA, and North South University and Southeast University in Bangladesh. He has held significant administrative roles, including Chair of the Accounting and Finance Department, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Graduate Programs, and Accreditation, as well as Director of DBA, MBA, Executive MBA, and Professional Development Programs, where he contributed to program management, accreditation, new program development, and academic policy formulation.
Professor Haque's research specializations include asymmetric information and development of efficient financial markets and institutions, financial literacy and well-being, economic policy analysis, financial crises' causes, consequences and policy implications, corporate governance, corporate social responsibilities, and international parity conditions and arbitrage. Key publications include "Does bank lending rate propagate economic cycles in developing countries with high foreign debts?" with S. H. Lee (International Journal of Business & Public Administration, 2015), "Russia’s resource capitalism—market vs political signalling" with G. L. Kretzschmar and E. Simpson (Energy Policy, 2013), "Testing conventional and ex-ante purchasing power parity for three CIS countries" with R. Bhatti (AFBE Journal, 2013), and several works on bank lending cyclical effects and term spreads in CIS countries (2011-2012). He has received honors such as Best Graduate Teacher of the Bang College of Business at KIMEP University (2006, 2007), Best Teacher of Finance from the Finance Student Association at Texas Tech University (1997), and Best Service to the Bang College of Business at KIMEP (2006). Through extensive teaching in finance courses at BBA, MBA, EMBA, and DBA levels and leadership in business education, he has impacted academic communities regionally and internationally.
