Jiří Chod serves as the Ferrante Family Professor and Chairperson of the Business Analytics Department in the Carroll School of Management at Boston College. Originally from Prague, Czech Republic, he earned his MS from the University of Economics in Prague and his Ph.D. from the University of Rochester. At Boston College, Professor Chod has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in operations management, economics, management science, and data analytics. His research interests span operations management, industrial organization, and corporate finance. Most recently, his work has focused on applications of blockchain technology and smart contracts in finance, corporate governance, and supply chain management.
Chod's scholarship has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics, Management Science, and Operations Research. Key publications include "Product market competition with crypto tokens and smart contracts" (with Evgeny Lyandres, Journal of Financial Economics, 2023); "Platform Tokenization: Financing, Governance, and Moral Hazard" (with Nikolas Trichakis and S.
