Associate Professor Caroline Robinson serves as Associate Professor Podiatry in the School of Allied Health, Exercise and Sports Sciences at Charles Sturt University. With over 33 years of experience in podiatry education and curriculum design, she moved to Australia from the United Kingdom in 2005. Her academic background includes a PhD in Education from Charles Sturt University awarded in 2012, with a thesis titled 'Illuminating Honours: exploring the experience of allied health students using a phenomenological approach'; a Master of Science in Pharmacology from the University of East London in 1988; a Fellowship in Podiatric Surgery completed in the UK; and a Master in Pharmacology from the UK. She has held leadership roles such as Associate Head of School of Community Health and Discipline Lead Podiatry. As the inaugural Chair of the Australasian Council of Podiatry Deans from 2020 to 2023, she collaborated with podiatry program leaders in Australia and New Zealand to advance education initiatives and address key issues in podiatry courses and student education.
Robinson's research specializations encompass sustaining and growing the podiatry workforce, developing cultural capabilities for podiatry practice particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, ageing well, podiatry career pathways, allied health pedagogy, and higher education curriculum. Key publications include 'Student perspectives on marketing the podiatry profession and course promotion: A mixed methods study' (Kaminski et al., Journal of Foot and Ankle Research, 2025), 'Motivators and barriers for studying podiatry in Australia and New Zealand: A mixed methods study' (Kaminski et al., Journal of Foot and Ankle Research, 2024), 'Building foot health literacy through health promotion to increase community understanding about the value of podiatry for chronic disease management' (Robinson et al., 2025), and 'A workforce snapshot: opinion piece' (Stride Magazine, 2024). She contributes to public engagement through articles in The Conversation and Stride Magazine, promoting foot health literacy. Her awards include the 2023 Executive Dean’s Teaching Award, Change One Thing Award (2023), Charles Sturt Executive Deans Awards for Teaching (2022), and Charles Sturt Excellence Award (2021).
