Dr Aise Kim serves as a Senior Lecturer at UniSA Business within Adelaide University and is a member of the Centre for Tourism and Leisure Management. She earned her PhD in Tourism Management from the University of Surrey, United Kingdom. Throughout her career, she has held positions as Program Director and Curriculum Leader for the Bachelor of Business (Tourism and Event Management). Dr Kim has contributed to professional bodies as Chapter Director and executive committee member for the Council for Australasian Tourism and Hospitality Education (CAUTHE), executive committee member for Wildlife Tourism Australia, regional editor for the journal Anatolia, and reviewer for Tourism Recreation Research. She has taught courses including Destination Management, Food, Wine, and Festival Tourism, Tourism Impacts and Sustainability, and Digital Innovations in Tourism.
Dr Kim's research specializations include storytelling-based marketing for food and wellbeing tourism, sustainable tourism examining economic, socio-cultural, and environmental impacts, geotourism, ecotourism focused on green accommodations and pro-environmental behaviors, tourist experience psychology and travel behaviors, destination marketing and market segmentation, service and experience quality in tourism sectors, heritage interpretation, food and wine tourism development, and quantitative and mixed methods analysis. Her projects cover South Australian tourism sectors such as Flinders Ranges National Park and Kangaroo Island green accommodations and restaurants, as well as international cases from the UK, Italy, Indonesia, China, and Korea. She has received grants from the Australia-Korea Foundation and Australia-Indonesia Institute. Key publications feature 'Diverse socialising patterns in wine tourist experiences: a segmentation-based analysis of visitors to the wineries in South Australia' (2022, International Journal of Tourism Research), 'The green accommodation management practices: the role of environmentally responsible tourist markets' (2021, Sustainability), 'Measuring resident place attachment in a World Cultural Heritage tourism context: the case of Hoi An (Vietnam)' (2020, Current Issues in Tourism), and influential earlier works such as 'Understanding the relationships between perceived travel experiences, overall satisfaction, and destination loyalty' (2012, Anatolia) and 'The multiple assessment of interpretation effectiveness: promoting visitors' environmental attitudes and behavior' (2011, Journal of Travel Research).
