About Abdallah

Professor Abdallah Mohammad Abdallah, born in 1961, is a distinguished academic leader serving as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Kordofan in Sudan. He earned his BSc in 1987 and MSc in 1997 from the University of Khartoum. In 2003, he obtained his PhD through a split program between the University of Khartoum and CIRAD in Montpellier, France, focusing on pest management and economic entomology. His advanced training includes programs at the University of London in the UK and Wageningen University in the Netherlands. These qualifications have positioned him as an expert in agricultural pest control and entomology, aligning with his affiliations in the Faculty of Natural Resources and Environmental Studies at the University of Kordofan.

Professor Abdallah has a robust career history marked by significant academic, research, and administrative contributions. He previously headed the Quality and Strategic Planning Unit at the University of Kordofan, served as principal investigator for funded research programs, and chaired scientific committees within the Ministry of Higher Education in Sudan. As Vice Chancellor, he leads an institution comprising 14 colleges and institutes, including the Faculty of Natural Resources and Environmental Studies, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Technical Studies, and the Institute of Gum Arabic. Under his stewardship, the university fosters partnerships with international organizations such as the International Labour Organization and the African Development Bank, signs memoranda of understanding for engineering and training collaborations, and oversees faculty promotion committees and deans' councils. He actively engages in site visits to agricultural research initiatives, such as intercropping projects, and promotes human resources development through the university's training center. His leadership emphasizes resilience and recovery efforts, including participation in post-war reconstruction initiatives for Sudanese higher education.
