The Research group in Conflict Management hosts a 5-year SNSF-funded project that aims to examine how effective peacekeeping missions are in contributing to the resolution of intra-state and non-state conflicts. The project looks at both the military and diplomatic functions of peacekeeping staff. Project background Our research is theory-driven, empirically grounded, and broad in terms of methodology. We focus on the impact of peace mediation and peacekeeping operations on the termination and resolution of armed conflicts.
