Job Description

This position offers the opportunity to drive innovation in parallel algorithm design, leverage emerging hardware acceleration, and publish in top-tier HPC and spatial data conferences and journals.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Original GPU Computing Research: Design, develop, and optimize high-performance parallel algorithms for similarity search, high-dimensional spatial reasoning, and large-scale data joins
Prototype Development & Evaluation: Implement, benchmark, and rigorously evaluate algorithmic prototypes on state-of-the-art hardware (including modern GPU clusters and emerging accelerator architectures)
Scientific Writing & Publication: Lead and contribute to the preparation of high-quality manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and flagship conferences
Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary research team, mentoring graduate students and contributing to collaborative grant-funded milestones

Qualifications

MS in Computer Science with a strong focus on Parallel and Distributed Computing
Proven track record or deep technical understanding of GPU computing and parallel programming models
Strong background in data structures and algorithm design, particularly involving spatial data, graph algorithms, or approximate similarity search
Excellent proficiency in C/C++ and performance profiling tools
