Required Qualifications:
- At minimum, a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience with mammalian cell culture and molecular biology
- Documented and hands-on experience with qPCR, miRNA biology, and Western blotting techniques
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative research team.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:
- Flow cytometry
- Molecular cloning
- RNA interference (siRNA, miRNA, morpholinos)
- Cell migration and adhesion assays
- Bioinformatics or RNA-seq analysis
Position Responsibilities: The Research Assistant will:
- Maintain mammalian cell cultures under BSL-2 conditions.
- Perform RNA and miRNA extraction, end-point, and quantitative PCR.
- Conduct flow cytometry and Western blot experiments and quantitative protein analysis.
- Perform mammalian cell transfections and gene knockdown/overexpression experiments using electroporation and Lipofectamine-based transfection.
- Assist with flow cytometry experiments and data analysis.
- Carry out molecular cloning and plasmid validation.
- Collect and analyze experimental data using different tools and platforms.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, databases and experimental documentation.
- Help supervise and mentor undergraduate researchers.
- Participate in laboratory meetings and contribute to manuscripts, conference presentations, and reports.
