Description
The Department of Microbiology and Immunology seeks candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking a creative and visionary investigator employing cutting-edge approaches to join the Integrative Microbiology (iMicro) program, which includes a focus in the broadly defined areas of Microbiology, Microbial Pathogenesis and Host Response, Virology, and Innate Immunity. The vibrant iMicro program spans both the Parnassus and Mission Bay campuses of UCSF. Research space will be at the Mission Bay campus, embedded in a dynamic and interactive community of labs.
Candidates are expected to hold a PhD and/or M.D. degree at time of appointment (CV must list pending degree), and to have demonstrated significant potential in their field. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a compelling research program and to excel at teaching. The successful candidate will be eligible for membership in our many basic science graduate programs, including but not limited to Biomedical Sciences (BMS), and Tetrad (Cell Biology, Biochemistry and Biophysics, Genetics).
