Job Summary
The AI and Machine Learning Instructor has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, classroom instruction and lab instruction and completing all duties associated with full-time teaching. Assigned classes may occur during the day, evening, and/or online with varying teaching locations including on-campus, dual enrollment, and Early College High School. This position reports to LSCPA’s Business and Industrial Technology Department.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide quality instruction
- Participate in college tasks, which includes but is not limited to, advising, recruiting, and tutoring
- Serve on departmental and college committees, perform community services, and participate in continuing educational and/or professional development opportunities
- Exhibit commitment and involvement in the development, implementation, and assessment of curriculum based on program, department and college goals and objectives
- Attend faculty meetings
- Maintain current knowledge, expertise, and safety in the subject areas of teaching responsibility along with broader higher education matters and trends
- Respond to students, faculty and staff in a timely and professional manner
- Occasional travel to various campus and/or conference, seminar locations
- Comply with campus policies and procedures
- Other related duties, as assigned
Minimum/Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in qualifying field such as; Computer Science/Data Analytics, Information Technology, Machine Learning, Software Engineering/Development, Robotics, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
- Industry Certifications such as; Google AI Essentials, AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty, AI Engineer (ARTiBA), Certified Artificial Intelligence Scientist (CAIS), DeepLearning.AI Specializations (Coursera), Microsoft AI Fundamentals
- Three (3) years of industry work experience
- Work independently in the classroom
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Possess time management and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a qualifying field
- Experience with Blackboard or other computerized teaching systems
- Teaching experience in higher education
- Teaching experience at a two-year college
Supplemental Information
Physical Requirements:
Duties may include standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting or moving of equipment or materials up to 25 pounds. Visual and auditory acuity are required to ensure effective instruction and safe supervision of students in classroom and settings.
Work Hours:
Full time hours, Monday - Friday, with possibility of some evenings, depending upon class schedule.
