The Department of Theatre Arts at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is seeking to expand its lecturer pool for a range of lower-division and upper-division courses in all areas, including: acting, directing, script writing, scenography, improvisation, costume design, prop-making, puppetry, lighting design, stage design, immersive digital media for theatre, and more.
Both our lower-division and upper-division undergraduate courses are 1-unit, 2-unit, or 3-unit courses. Each is taught twice a week on campus (at our San Bernardino campus) during the Fall and Spring semesters (15 weeks each). Instructors prepare their own syllabi, assignments, classroom activities, lecture materials, and grading rubrics, and teach the courses following department guidelines. Instructors of these courses also hold limited office hours in which they can meet with students who need help, have questions, and require advice about their coursework.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Arts, or a suitably related discipline. Candidates with compensating industry experience will also be considered.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in hand by time of appointment (MFA in Theatre, or equivalent/suitably related discipline). Demonstration of teaching experience at higher education level.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Evidence of scholarly activity, production experience, publications are valued.
