Dance Team Instructor (10 hours per week, 9 months)
The Boston College Bands Program seeks a part-time Dance Team Instructor to provide instruction and support for the "Screaming Eagles" Marching Band Dance Team. Applicants should have extensive experience choreographing and instructing students in various dance forms including pom, kickline, jazz, lyrical, and hip-hop styles. seasons on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 PM to 10 PM. In addition to seven home football games, applicants must be available for occasional special events and travel performances including potential bowl games.
Each staff member in the Division of Student Affairs is expected to support division and university-wide initiatives, staff events, and serve on committees as needed.
Salary: $7,918
Requirements
A master's degree in dance or dance education is preferred.
Demonstrated success choreographing and teaching various dance styles
Demonstrated success in managing a dance ensemble
Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills
Must be able to relate to, teach, and motivate college students
Must attend Band Camp, all rehearsals, and all performances
Must manage team uniforms, costumes, props, and equipment
Must be available to consult regarding programming during the off-season
Must work with student leader to ensure recruiting needs are met
Must meet with candidates and review auditions to select new dancers
Must be available for post-season bowl travel in event of post-season football games
