The successful candidate will have:

• A Master of Library and Information Studies from an ALA accredited program, combined with one to two years of directly related experience in an academic library.
• Experience providing information literacy instruction sessions, collection development and research appointments are strong assets.
• Familiarity with ACRL Information Literacy Framework Standards for Higher Education.
• Demonstrated knowledge of collection development standards and experience with collection evaluation, assessment and building.

In addition to the required qualifications, consideration will be given to candidates who possess:

• Knowledge of current issues related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) in academic libraries and experience incorporating guidance of ethical use into information literacy instruction and / or online resources.
• Experience creating online resources, such as LibGuides.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Library Services, and in consultation with the Manager Access Services, Librarians, and Library staff, the successful candidate will carry out responsibilities in support of research, teaching and learning for students, staff, and faculty of Nipissing University and Canadore College. Responsibilities will include working collaboratively with the Library Instruction team, planning and delivering Information Literacy Instruction sessions for faculty, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and other research staff, and subject liaising activities including collection and development.

Working in consultation with librarians and library staff, other duties include reviewing and evaluating services, resources, tools and software, and implementing initiatives and user engagement activities related to library services and resources.

Our campus is located at 100 College Dr, North Bay, ON P1B 8L7. Based on the Collective Agreement, the annual salary for this role will range from $69,242 to $92,606, plus employee benefits and pension plan as per the collective agreement.
