Candidates should have the appropriate academic background and expertise to teach, develop courses and conduct research in such areas as information security, risk management, privacy management, data ethics, data governance, machine and deep learning, artificial intelligence, and data analytics. We are seeking candidates who through their research and/or professional experience, teaching, and/or service can contribute to the strategic plan of the Pamplin College of Business. Duties will include teaching cybersecurity, information technology (IT), and business analytics courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. Experience teaching technical security courses, security analytics, and/or data governance is preferred. Teaching experience in areas such as security management, risk management, privacy, security policy, data ethics, cyberlaw, forensics, data analytics, and artificial intelligence would be beneficial. The teaching load will be 18 credit hours per academic year (typically, 9 credit hours per semester). Other duties may include participation in departmental committees, and activities including advising and mentoring students as assigned by the Department Head. Occasional travel may be required to attend professional meetings and conferences. Required Qualifications
An earned doctorate in information systems, information technology, operations management, operations research, management science or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in IS or IT-related field (required for assistant collegiate professor). Professional certifications in cybersecurity, IT, or analytics.
