Tenured/Tenure-track faculty position (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor)
The Department of Surgery in the Morsani College of Medicine of the University of South Florida (USF) invites applications for tenured/tenure-track faculty positions in the Division of Surgical Research. We seek applicants with an excellent record of achievement to join our interdisciplinary and interactive faculty. Expertise is required in studying fundamental and translational aspects in the pathophysiology of diseases relevant to the broad field of surgical research.
Applicants should have a MD, PhD or equivalent degree and a strong publication track record, commensurate with experience and rank. Candidates for appointments at all levels must have current extramural funding, evidence of active contribution to graduate training and/or medical education. Physician scientists are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Teaching Duties: Candidates are expected to contribute to graduate and/or medical school education.
Research Duties: To perform basic and translational research related to the pathophysiology of diseases relevant to the broad field of surgical research.
Administrative Duties: Candidates are expected to serve on departmental, MCOM or University Committees as deemed appropriate by the Chair and Dean of MCOM.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university.
Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities.
Responsible for academic advising and related activities.
May represent the university, college/school, or department.
Qualifications
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing, or research in refereed and other professional journals.
Candidates must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in .
