About Zoe

Professor Zoe Radnor serves as Interim Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and Pro Vice-Chancellor Global Academic Hubs at Aston University, having joined the institution in 2023 initially as Pro Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean of the College of Business and Social Sciences. Previously, she held the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor at The University of Law. At City, University of London, she was Vice-President for Strategy and Planning, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and Professor of Service Operations Management. Radnor also served as the inaugural Dean of the University of Leicester School of Business and as Associate Dean (Learning and Teaching) for Loughborough University in London. Her career includes earlier positions at Warwick Business School and Cardiff Business School.

Radnor's research specializations encompass performance and process improvement, service management, and Lean methodologies applied to public sector organizations, particularly in healthcare and government. She has led research projects evaluating the implementation of Lean and related techniques for government and healthcare organizations. Her highly cited publications include "Lean in healthcare: the unfilled promise?" (2012), "A new theory for public service management? Toward a (public) service-dominant approach" (2013), "Co-production and the co-creation of value in public services: a suitable case for treatment?" (2016), and "Measuring supply chain performance: current research and future directions" (2006). She co-authored the book "Lean as a Healthcare Improvement Approach" with Sharon J. Williams (2025) and has recent publications such as "A typology of dis/value in public service delivery" (2023). Radnor is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences (FAcSS) and the British Academy of Management (FBAM). In 2025, she received the Outstanding Leader of the Year award at the Multicultural Business and Community Champions Awards. She serves on the Athena Swan Governance Committee for Advance HE, the Southern Universities Management Systems board, and editorial boards for the International Journal of Production and Operations Management and Public Money and Management.
