Associate Professor Yimin Huang, known professionally as Stephanie Huang, holds the position of Associate Professor in Marketing within the Faculty of Business and Economics at Macquarie University, where she also serves as Associate Dean (Curriculum and Learning, Undergraduate) in the Macquarie Business School. She obtained her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Fudan University in China and her PhD in Marketing from the University of New South Wales. Before joining Macquarie University, she worked as a Lecturer in Marketing at both UNSW and Fudan University. Her professional experience extends to senior managerial roles in higher education and positions in consulting, media, and market research firms.
Huang's primary research interests encompass the dynamics and evolution of trust in business relationships and networks, consumer vulnerability and well-being, luxury branding and consumer engagement, brand crises, and cross-cultural marketing phenomena. As a cross-disciplinary researcher, she has assumed leadership roles in interdisciplinary research networks, led multiple funded projects, and published in leading journals including Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, and Journal of Consumer Affairs. Key publications include 'Knowledge transfer in business-to-business customer relationship development' (2025), 'Are we becoming more ethical consumers during the global pandemic? The moderating role of negotiable fate across cultures' (2024, Journal of Business Ethics), and 'Consumer response journey following a product-harm crisis: The role of online brand communities' (2024, Journal of Consumer Behaviour). Renowned as an award-winning educator and supervisor, all her Higher Degree Research students have successfully completed their degrees on topics ranging from cross-cultural business dynamics to consumer responses to brand crises. Her accolades include the Australian Awards for University Teaching Citation (2025), Vice-Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Education (2025), Dean's Excellence Award for Student Experience (2013), and Vice-Chancellor's Highly Commended Student-Nominated Teaching Award (2021). Huang has delivered invited public lectures such as 'From Grammar to Grit: The Unlikely Path of a Language-Loving Marketer' (2025) and participated in panels including International Women's Day (2023).
