Professor Veston Rowe serves as an Artistic Professor in Film and Media Arts at Chapman University's Lawrence and Kristina Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, where he holds the position of Program Coordinator for Public Relations, Advertising, and Entertainment Marketing. Rowe earned a Bachelor of Arts from Phillips University and a Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma, graduating with honors. His career commenced at Phillips University, his undergraduate alma mater, where he was appointed Assistant Director of Publications and later advanced to Admissions Publications Coordinator. During this period, he became one of the founding members of Enid's Habitat for Humanity chapter, contributing to the rehabilitation of homes for those in need. In 1989, Rowe joined Chapman University, initially as Admissions Publications Coordinator, and has since progressed to full professor status, marking over 35 years of dedicated service to the institution as of recent records.
Throughout his tenure at Chapman, Rowe has garnered numerous awards for his publications work and received the Faculty Excellence Award from the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts for the 2014-2015 academic year. He has made significant contributions to university milestones, including editing and proofreading the Chapman University 150th anniversary book in collaboration with the Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications, as well as writing the program for the 150th Anniversary celebration on May 6, supported by research from his Advanced Public Relations Writing class. Additionally, Rowe has taught journalism classes to at-risk high school students and spearheaded public relations campaigns for nonprofit organizations, including Stop AIDS Orange County, Lifeguard Orange County, and Being Alive. His expertise lies in nonprofit public relations, crisis public relations, and feature writing. Rowe's commitment to community service was nationally recognized in a November 2008 People Magazine feature titled "Heroes of Hard Times," which detailed his decision to shelter a friend's family after they lost their home due to injury-related financial hardship. He has also appeared in a 30-second online advertisement for Metaverse AR.
