Veerajay Gooljar serves as a Lecturer in the Faculty of IT at Curtin Mauritius, a campus of Curtin University. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy from Curtin University in February 2022, with a focus on Sentiment Analysis and Predictive Modelling. His prior qualifications include a Master of Science in Applied Computing and Digital Technologies from the Open University Mauritius, completed between August 2019 and May 2021, and a degree in Software Engineering from the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation, earned from May 2016 to March 2019. Gooljar teaches key courses at Curtin Mauritius, including COMP3010 Machine Learning, ISYS3004 Business Web and Mobile Technologies, and COMP1005 Fundamentals of Programming. His teaching locations include the Charles Telfair Institute building on the Curtin Perth campus equivalent setup in Mauritius.
Gooljar's research specializes in sentiment analysis, predictive modelling, artificial intelligence applications in e-commerce, customer experience, and digital marketing. Notable publications include 'Sentiment-based predictive models for online purchases in the era of marketing 5.0: a systematic review,' co-authored with Tomayess Issa, Sarita Hardin-Ramanan, and Bilal Abu-Salih, published in the Journal of Big Data in August 2024. This work examines machine learning, deep learning, and ensemble techniques for consumer behavior analysis using PRISMA-P methodology. Another key paper is 'An Aspect-Based Sentiment Analysis Model for Extracting Customer Trust, Loyalty and Retention for E-commerce' from January 2026. He also published 'Semi-2DCAE: a semi-supervision 2D-CNN AutoEncoder model' in 2024 and 'Biometric Bus Ticketing System In Mauritius' as a conference paper in 2019. His research has accumulated 41 citations on ResearchGate. Additionally, Gooljar is listed in the Tourism Research Cluster under Curtin University's Business & Law research area at Curtin Mauritius. He has contributed to student projects in AI and sustainability challenges, such as the Western Australian Universities SDG Challenge.
