About Tomoko

Tomoko Ichinohe is an Honorary Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at Aomori Chuo Gakuin University, where she previously served as Dean of the Faculty, Professor, and Director of the Nursing Practice Center. She earned her Master's degree in Education from Hirosaki University and a Doctor of Medicine from Hirosaki University Graduate School of Medicine. Her academic career began in 1976 as an Assistant at Hirosaki University School of Allied Medical Sciences, progressing to Lecturer (1990-1995), Associate Professor (1995-2000), and Professor at Hirosaki University School of Health Sciences from 2000. She joined Aomori Chuo Gakuin University as Professor in the Faculty of Nursing, taking on leadership roles including Dean.

Ichinohe's research specializations are basic nursing and nursing education. She led the KAKENHI-funded project 'Construction of a Support Model for Continuing Education of Nursing Professionals in Local Areas' (2007-2008) at Hirosaki University. Her publications include '高度看護実践としての放射線看護の枠組みと将来展望' co-authored in the Journal of Radiological Nursing Society of Japan (Vol. 3, No. 1, 2013); '対象者から学ぶ在宅看護学実習の展開' in Nursing Education (Vol. 61, No. 7, 2020); '看護学生の成人看護学実習(慢性期)における患者指導の実際と困難' in Aomori Chuo Gakuin University Research Bulletin; development of the 'Patient Guidance Skill Evaluation Scale (Short Version)' for nursing professionals published in Journal of Health Science Research (2017); and studies such as '小児看護学における『家族看護』教育についての考察' in Hirosaki University Graduate School of Health Sciences Bulletin (2010). She has contributed to collaborative research on new graduate nurses' socialization, chronic illness care for children, and elderly care linkages. Ichinohe holds positions as councilor of the Japan Society of Radiological Nursing, reviewer for the Japan Academy of Nursing Science, and lecturer for the Aomori Nursing Association on practical training guidance. She delivers public lectures on nursing education systems, curriculum evolution, and research planning. As Dean, she facilitated international memoranda of understanding with nursing faculties at Chulalongkorn University and Walailak University, enhancing global nursing education ties. Her work supports regional nurse professional development through training programs and community contributions.
