Dr. Suzanne Caliph is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Monash University, Australia. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Lymphatic Drug Delivery Research, Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Pharmaceutics, Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Teaching, and Bachelor of Pharmacy from Monash University and its Victorian College of Pharmacy. A registered practising pharmacist with AHPRA, Dr. Caliph serves as the Academic Lead for the Graduate Entry Pharmacy Program and the Comprehensive Care Curriculum stream lead for the BPharm(Hon)/MPharm Degree Program. She coordinates and acts as chief examiner for key units such as Bridge to Practice II, Dermatology Pain and Woundcare, and Cardiovascular disease, and holds the role of Skills Coaching Lead. Her commitment to educational excellence is evidenced by multiple prestigious awards, including the Australian Awards for University Teaching in 2025 and 2013, the Australian Council of Deans of Health Sciences (ACDHS) Allied Health Education Innovation Award in 2024, Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning in 2024, Vice-Chancellor's Citation for education innovations, and Excellence in Education in 2018.
Dr. Caliph's research specializes in graduate skills training and assessment, workforce education, precision pharmacotherapy, educational/instructional technology, lymphatic drug transport, personalised medicine, and sustainability. She has authored or co-authored 33 research outputs, with recent publications including "Embodying the planetary health education framework in our teaching: Evaluating students’ engagement with co-designed international infectious diseases curriculum" (2025, Innovations in Education and Teaching International), "Integrating Domestic Violence Education into the Pharmacy Curriculum" (2025, Pharmacy), "A Comparison of Online Learning Engagement Across Cultural Backgrounds" (2024, ACE2024 Conference Proceedings), "Comparing Online Learning Engagement Across Cultural Backgrounds" (2024), and "Online teaching and learning of a pharmacy curriculum designed for active learning and professional skills development" (2024, Currents in Pharmacy Teaching and Learning). Additionally, she contributes to international pharmacy development as an Executive Committee Member of the FIP-Western Pacific Pharmaceutical Forum and Secretary for Education and Workforce Development since 2015. Her work has significantly influenced pharmacy education through innovative curriculum design and skills training methodologies.
