Dr. Susan Weggery is a Senior Professional Practice Fellow and the Co-ordinator for Queenstown in the Rural Medical Immersion Programme (RMIP) at the Centre for Rural Health, University of Otago, within the Division of Health Sciences. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) obtained from the University of Otago in 2005, Fellowship of the Division of Rural Hospital Medicine New Zealand (FDRHMNZ) awarded in 2017, Postgraduate Diploma in Rural and Provincial Hospital Practice (PGDipRPHP), Diploma in Child Health (DCH), Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Practice Update (PGCertCPU), Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), all from the University of Otago. She achieved full New Zealand medical registration on 1 April 2008. In her clinical capacity, Dr. Weggery works as a Rural Hospital Medicine Specialist at Lakes District Hospital in Queenstown, contributing to healthcare delivery in rural settings.
Dr. Weggery has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications focusing on rural healthcare services and clinical research areas such as gastroenterology and nephrology.
