Dr. Somu Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, having joined the institution on April 16, 2010. With over 14 years of teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, he has supervised the completion of four Ph.D. theses and thirty M.Ed. and M.A. Education dissertations. His research specializations include Teacher Education, ICT in Education—particularly the use of social media platforms—Social Science Education, Educational Psychology, and Indian Knowledge Systems. Somu Singh is the principal investigator for a major project funded by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Government of India, investigating the pedagogy of social science. He has contributed more than 25 research papers to national and international journals, advancing discourse in educational innovation and technology integration.

An Exploratory Study of Political Interest and Political Efficacy" (2009, Journal of Indian Education, NCERT). Singh founded the Teacher Educators for Social Services (TESS) forum in 2011, now with over 100,000 global members across social media platforms, fostering educator connectivity and innovative teacher education models.
