Shuju Wu serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of Computer Electronics and Graphics Technology at Central Connecticut State University. She earned her PhD in Telecommunications from the University of Pittsburgh. With more than 20 years of academic experience, including 14 years at CCSU, Dr. Wu has held leadership roles such as department chair and AAUP liaison. She was promoted to Associate Professor in 2016 and advanced to full Professor. Previously, she was affiliated with Southeast Missouri State University. In her current role, she oversees undergraduate programs including the ABET-accredited BS in Computer Engineering Technology, ATMAE-accredited BS degrees in Electronics Technology, Graphics Technology, and Networking Information Technology, and the BS in Cybersecurity, which holds NSA designations as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education and Cyber Operations.
Dr. Wu's scholarly contributions include peer-reviewed publications on networking and information technology topics. Notable works are 'Performance Analysis on Multicast Feedback Control with Diverse Feedback Channels' (International Journal of Modern Engineering, 2012, co-authored with Xiaobing Hou), 'On the Performance of an Application Layer Multicast Protocol' (co-authored with Xiaobing Hou), 'Design and Development of a New Networking Information Technology Program and Laboratory' (ASEE, 2015, co-authored with Xiaobing Hou), 'Use of Mobile Application Development Technologies in Capstone Projects' (co-authored with Xiaobing Hou), and 'A Bus Tracking and Planning System for CTfastrak' (ASEE). She is listed on the editorial boards of the International Journal of Modern Engineering and the International Journal of Engineering Research and Innovation. Dr. Wu has been recognized for teaching excellence, named to the 2025 Excellence in Teaching Honor Roll (full-time faculty). She has served on the Faculty Senate and was a nominee for the Academic Assessment Committee in 2024, emphasizing her commitment to teaching, research, service, mentorship, fairness, equity, and diversity.
