Shá Wilfred is Professor of Criminal Justice in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice at Valdosta State University, where she joined the faculty in August 2005. She serves as General Education Coordinator and was Interim Department Head. Her academic background includes a PhD in Criminal Justice from Indiana University (2005), an MA in Criminal Justice from Indiana University (2003), and a BS in Criminal Justice from Taylor University (1999). Wilfred teaches core criminal justice courses such as Criminal Justice Data Analysis (Qualitative and Quantitative), Research Methods (Qualitative and Quantitative), Corrections, Communities and Crime, Comparative Justice Studies, Criminal Victimization, Criminology, Juvenile Justice, Drugs and Society, Gang, Group, and Multiple Offender Criminality, and Restorative Justice. She is located in Nevins Hall 1014.
Wilfred's research specializations encompass restorative justice, community-based organizations including faith-based organizations, juvenile justice issues, community corrections, factors influencing student success, and curriculum and pedagogy assessment.
