Prof. Seema Srivastava serves as Professor and Teacher-in-Charge of the Department of Psychology in the Faculty of Social Sciences at Vasanta College for Women, Rajghat Fort, Varanasi. This institution is admitted to the privileges of Banaras Hindu University and managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation India. Holding a Ph.D., she progressed from Associate Professor to her current professorial role, demonstrating sustained commitment to psychological education and departmental leadership. Prof. Srivastava has been actively involved in numerous administrative capacities, enhancing institutional quality and student welfare. As former Coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), she contributed her insights through messages in official newsletters. She currently acts as Convener of the Internal Complaint Committee, ensuring compliance with grievance redressal protocols. Additionally, she participates as a member in the Admission Committee for Undergraduate Arts programs, Anti-Ragging Committee, Manashakti Club activities, and various other cells including Guidance and Counseling committees.
Prof. Srivastava's scholarly contributions include co-authoring the paper 'Role of nature and nurture on intelligence quotient (IQ) of adolescents' published in the International Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies in Social Sciences. She also co-authored 'A Study of Trigunatmak Personality Traits and Organizational Citizenship Behavior: A Literature Review' in 2025 with research scholar Nishita Nishita. Furthermore, she supervised the research titled 'Quality of Life and Burnout Among Teachers in Relation to Gender' by Vaishali Sharma. Her involvement extends to organizing and participating in departmental events, such as web talks and workshops under the Manashakti Club, and delivering guest lectures on psychological topics at affiliated institutions. Through these roles and contributions, Prof. Srivastava fosters academic excellence, research orientation, and holistic development within the Psychology department and the broader college community.
