Dr. Sangay Wangchuk serves as Associate Lecturer Support for Learning in the Learning, Teaching and Technology unit at Murdoch University. With over three decades of association with the university, he has gained extensive teaching and research experience across various disciplines. His career encompasses roles as a university associate lecturer, learning advisor, journalist, ecotourism professional, and science education outreach worker. Dr. Wangchuk earned his Doctor of Philosophy from the School of Education at Edith Cowan University in 2023. His doctoral thesis, "Investigating the efficacy of teaching practicum supervision in Bhutan," utilized a qualitative constructivist design, incorporating interviews with student teachers, mentors, and supervising lecturers, document analysis, and reflexive journaling drawn from his three years of prior experience as a supervising lecturer in Bhutanese teaching practicum settings.
Dr. Wangchuk's specializations include teacher education, journalism, curriculum design, academic skills, qualitative research, and quantitative research. He demonstrates knowledge of contemporary pedagogical approaches and dedication to student-centered learning, consistently achieving high student satisfaction and achievement levels. His collaborative efforts with stakeholders and sensitivity to cultural diversity underscore his adaptability and commitment to inclusive educational environments. Notable publications include "Effects of microteaching on the pre-service teachers' teaching skills: Action research study in Bhutan" (2019, International Journal of Education and Development using Information and Communication Technology, vol. 15, no. 1, pp. 133-146) and a contribution to "Situating the Efficacy of Certificate Course in Social Work: Perspectives of Alumni and Employers" (2022, Research on Social Work Practice, vol. 32, no. 1, pp. 106-115). He has delivered conference presentations, such as at the 40th WAIER Research Forum 2025 at Murdoch University and the 16th Biennial Association for Academic Language and Learning conference, collaborating with Stephen Johnson, Rajeni Rajan, Ann Ranson, and Philip Arena.
