Great Professor!
Ruibin Zhang is a Professor of Pure Mathematics in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Sydney. He obtained his PhD in quantum field theory from the University of Tasmania during 1983-1985. Zhang's research specializations include Lie theory and its applications, mathematical physics, representation theory, group theory and generalisations, differential geometry, and supersymmetry. Described as an algebraist, his work centers on topics such as invariant theory for classical and quantum groups, quantum enveloping superalgebras, and Schur-Weyl duality. He is affiliated with the Faculty of Science and maintains an office in Room 722 of the Carslaw Building (F07).
Throughout his career, Zhang has contributed key publications to prominent journals. These include 'The Second Fundamental Theorem of Invariant Theory for the Orthosymplectic Supergroup' in the Nagoya Mathematical Journal (2019), 'Invariants of the special orthogonal group and an enhanced Brauer category' (2018), 'Degenerate quantum general linear groups' (2021), 'Generalized MICZ-Kepler problems and unitary highest weight modules' in the Journal of Mathematical Physics (2011), 'On Endomorphisms of Quantum Tensor Space' with Gustav I. Lehrer in Communications in Mathematical Physics (2008), and 'Schur-Weyl duality for...' as a recent publication. Additional works cover quantum fermion realisations, quantum group actions on noncommutative algebras, and fundamental theorems of invariant theory. Zhang was awarded an Australian Professorial Fellowship by the Australian Research Council, previously holding the position of Associate Professor. He serves on the editorial board of Communications in Mathematics and Statistics. His Google Scholar profile confirms his interests in Lie theory and mathematical physics, with verified University of Sydney affiliation.
