Richard Scheib is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Accounting in the School of Business Administration at Penn State Harrisburg. He joined the faculty full-time in the fall of 2006 and teaches business law and accounting courses to undergraduate and graduate students. Additionally, Scheib serves as an instructor in Penn State World Campus's online Master of Professional Accounting program, where he covers law, tax, and accounting topics. His instruction draws heavily from his practical experience in accounting and legal fields, providing students with real-world perspectives on these subjects.
Prior to his full-time academic role, Scheib worked in private accounting for corporations, public accounting with Big Five accounting firms, state government, and both large and small law firms, handling various accounting and legal issues. He has maintained a consulting practice alongside his teaching career. Scheib holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Bloomsburg University, a J.D. from Widener University, and an LL.M. from Georgetown University. His continuing education interests are taxation, business law, and elder law. He has delivered numerous presentations on elder law and tax matters to senior centers, civic groups, and senior seminars. Scheib is affiliated with the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Located in E356 Olmsted Building at Penn State Harrisburg, he also mentors students, including graduate students on community projects like estate planning for veterans.
