Dr. Qian Liu serves as a Lecturer and Educational Designer in the Higher Education Development Centre (HEDC) at the University of Otago, where she supports the design and development of innovative teaching and learning practices. She obtained her PhD in Management from the University of Auckland in June 2018, focusing her dissertation on academics' professional identity and responses to learning management system implementation, which earned the Dean's List commendation. Liu also possesses a Master of Science and Bachelor of Management degrees, and holds Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), recognizing her commitment to teaching excellence.
Prior to her current position, Liu was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Auckland's Business School from July 2018 to May 2019, participating in a national graduate employability project, delivering eLearning and teaching development support, and instructing courses in business, management, and information systems. From May 2019 to March 2021, she worked as a Professional Practice Fellow in eLearning at the University of Otago's Wellington campus Education Unit, collaborating with staff and students on integrating eLearning into teaching, assessment, and professional development sessions. Her expertise spans educational technology, learning and teaching in higher education, video pedagogy, employability skills, and medical education.
