Puteri Nurul Fatihah Binti Mohamad Azli is an Associate Teaching Fellow in the Science and Technology Department of the School of Pre-University and Continuing Education (SPACE) at Curtin University Malaysia. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Computational Mathematics, completing her undergraduate thesis on the solution of fractional order epidemic models using implicit Adams methods under the supervision of Dr. Loy Kak Choon. As an early-career academic, she focuses on innovative pedagogy to improve student engagement and confidence in foundational subjects. She lectures in the Foundation Engineering and Science program, delivering Mathematics 1, and supports Diploma of Information Technology courses, including Computer Organisation and Architecture. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes interactive and game-based learning to address common challenges like mathematics anxiety stemming from weak foundational skills.
Azli has secured multiple teaching grants and awards recognizing her contributions. In 2024, she received a Curtin Malaysia Teaching Support Round 2 grant for her project 'Engaging students through game-based learning: Integrating Quizziz in multiple disciplines.' In 2025, she was part of the team awarded the Curtin Malaysia Teaching Innovation Project grant for 'Making Mathematics Relevant: Incorporating Guest Speakers and Students as Partners.' Her involvement in the TECH-Reach program, where she mentored students in Google-based digital skills for community empowerment, led to the team winning the TECH-Reach Global Award for Innovative Faculty or School Project in December 2025. She has described mentoring as mutually rewarding and highlighted the power of collaborative teamwork. In January 2026, she led the Math Enhancement Camp for Foundation students, targeting topics like exponents, logarithms, differentiation, and integration to rebuild confidence and problem-solving abilities. She also contributed to the SuCCESS program mentoring secondary school students in mathematics, SLICE service learning initiatives, the Knowledge Transfer Program 2024, and served on the ICETE 2024 Organizing Committee. Through these efforts, Azli demonstrates a strong impact on student success and educational outreach.
