Dr. Petra Perolini is a Senior Lecturer in the Queensland College of Art and Design at Griffith University. She serves as Program Director for the Bachelor of Design and the Bachelor of Design and Business programs, and as Major Convenor for Interior and Spatial Design. She is also the Creative Director of LiveSpace. Prior to her academic appointment at Griffith University, Dr. Perolini worked for twenty years as an Interior Architect and Urban Designer in Australia and Europe. Her teaching includes convening the course Communication Strategies in Interior Design (2658QCA).
Dr. Perolini's research and scholarship focus on design pedagogy, interiority in interior design, sustainable and socially responsible design processes, innovative housing models addressing social exclusion and affordability crises, urban climate adaptation, speculative design for livable cities, and transdisciplinary work-integrated learning (WIL) in design education. Her key publications include 'Interior Spaces and the Layers of Meaning' (2011, Design Principles & Practices: An International Journal, 73 citations); 'Interior Environments: The Space of Interiority' (2014, Zoontechnica, 22 citations); 'Home Eco-Nomy: Dwelling, Destruction and Design' (2012, Design Philosophy Papers, with T.
