Dr. Nora Sabani, known professionally as Noraisikin Sabani, is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of General Studies within the Faculty of Humanities and Health Sciences at Curtin University Malaysia. She has been affiliated with Curtin Malaysia for over a decade, where she focuses on socio-cultural studies to enhance students' learning growth. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Teaching English as a Second Language (BSc TESL), a Master of Education (MEd), and a PhD in Education, completed during her time as a PhD fellow at the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, while on study leave from Curtin. Throughout her career, she has progressed from lecturer to senior lecturer, building a supportive professional network and contributing to the institution's development.
Dr. Sabani's research specializations cover teaching and learning, personalised learning, Islamic pedagogy, multicultural education, learning analytics, online learning, and digital learning technologies. Her key publications demonstrate significant impact in the field, including 'Demystifying Learning Analytics in Personalised Learning' (2018, cited by 246), 'Traditional Wisdom on Sustainable Learning: An Insightful View From Al-Zarnuji’s Ta‘lim al-Muta‘allim' (2017, cited by 144), 'Empowering Learning Culture as Student Identity Construction in Higher Education' (2017, cited by 138), 'Data on Multicultural Education and Diagnostic Information Profiling: Culture, Learning Styles and Creativity' (2016, cited by 74), 'English and Arabic Language Learning Environments: Islamic Universities Undergraduates' Experiences' (2020), 'Factors Influencing the Use of Digital Learning Personalisation' (2023), and 'Fire Safety Awareness and Practices in a Longhouse: A Study in Sarawak, Malaysia' (2025). She has also authored chapters on technology, pedagogy, and content knowledge for student-centred learning and the integration of spirituality in education. Currently, as Faculty Quality Assurance Chairperson, she coordinates the Service-Learning Integrated Community Engagement (SLICE) programme, launched in 2025, which involves 22 mentors guiding students in community projects promoting neurodiversity awareness, STEAM activities for schoolchildren, donation drives, and cultural initiatives like the Pogang Legacy project with the Bidayuh community to foster entrepreneurship and preserve Indigenous knowledge. Dr. Sabani received a Bronze Award (third place) at a Malaysia technology excellence event alongside colleagues.
