Myung Hun Jin, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Master of Public Administration Program in the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University. He earned a B.A. in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois-Chicago, an M.P.A. in Public Administration from Florida State University, and a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Florida State University. Prior to joining the Wilder School, Dr. Jin worked extensively as a systems project consultant for Florida state government agencies, including the Department of Financial Services, Department of Health, and Department of Children and Families.
Dr. Jin's expertise includes public sector innovation, human resource management in public organizations, health behaviors and management, environmental behaviors and policy, and citizen engagement. His research interests focus on social equity in human resource management, public sector innovation, and performance management. He teaches quantitative methods, advanced analytical methods seminar, and public policy analysis. Among his honors are the 2016 Faculty Excellence in Scholarship Award from the Wilder School, the 2018 Pi Alpha Alpha Chapter Advisor of the Year from NASPAA, and election to the National Council of the American Society for Public Administration. He also received a $100,000 grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for research on access to health care and shortage of physician workforce.
