Michael Kaluya, Ph.D., is Professor of Economics and serves as Chair for the Management, Business, and Fashion Merchandising programs at Tarrant County College Northeast Campus. He is the designated contact for the Economics discipline at the campus, teaching courses including Principles of Macroeconomics (ECON 2301). With a career focused on economics education and business administration leadership, Kaluya has been affiliated with Tarrant County College since January 2012. He concurrently holds adjunct positions teaching economics at Dallas College since August 2004 and at Texas Christian University since August 2022.
Dr. Kaluya's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Northcentral University (April 2014), with his dissertation titled "Perceptions of Corruption in Uganda: A Comparative Study of Citizens' and Public Officials' Perceptions." He earned an M.A. in Political Science (May 2010) and an M.Sc. in International Political Economy (December 2009) from The University of Texas at Dallas, an MBA in International Business/Economics (May 2004), and a BBA in Finance/Economics (May 2001) from Dallas Baptist University. As an author, he published the book "The Audacity to Change! Breaking the Berlin Wall in Africa," addressing underdevelopment in Africa. Kaluya has presented at conferences such as the 2018 NISOD conference on "The Power of Hope." He serves as a consultant in economic development, public policy, public administration, and international business, and is co-founder of the Foundation for Transformative Education & Community Engagement and IlaED.org, contributing expertise in development, economics, law, immigration, and education.
