Margaret Fink, EdD, RN, serves as Professor of Nursing in the Department of Nursing within the School of Health and Natural Sciences at Dominican University of California. She holds an EdD in Learning and Instruction from the University of San Francisco (2005), an MS in Nursing focused on case management and long-term care from San Francisco State University (1997), and a BS in Nursing from Dominican College of San Rafael (1988). A registered nurse with over 30 years of experience in various adult care settings, Dr. Fink has been a full-time faculty member at Dominican for more than 22 years. She teaches intermediate medical-surgical nursing, pathophysiology, and pharmacology, and currently directs the Internationally Educated Nurses (IEN) Program, having previously served as its assistant director and as associate director of nursing. Her career emphasizes hands-on clinical preparation, fostering relationships between students and nurse preceptors for effective transitions to professional practice.
Dr. Fink's research specializations include faculty and skills lab instruction, oncology, postoperative care, and labor/delivery, with a primary focus on skills competency among internationally educated nurses. She has delivered presentations such as "Against Medical Advice: Addressing Treatment Refusal" (2023, with L. Linnard-Palmer) and evaluations of the IEN Program (2019, 2018). Notable posters include "Implementation of an Internationally Educated Nurses Program" (2017, with A. Renwanz Boyle) and "Why Do I Need This Pill? A Simulated Approach for Teaching Pharmacology to Undergraduate Nursing Students" (2017, with A. Renwanz Boyle and L. Linnard-Palmer).
